Pimp my plan baby…

Pimp my plan baby…

The real title of this blog is ‘Six excellent reasons to write a business plan’.

I really just wanted to get your attention!

The words ‘Business Plan’ have been known to bring even the most creative souls to their knees.  Described as dull and not worth the effort, and of course totally unspiritual in nature, why would any-one really want a business plan unless they were aiming to be a conglomerate for world domination?

Whether you are a hobbyist, enhancing your current lifestyle or aiming for big business, trust in the Universe and tie your camel to the tree!

Here are six solid reasons to write an ace plan. All of which are incredibly spiritual.

  1. Clarity – a business plan helps you set your objectives

A business plan is the ultimate tool to help you determine what you want and when. It is a logical process taking you through each of your needs, highlighting where you need support and what action you can take to be successful.

We all know if you want to manifest the best, you need to be clear and concise.

  1. Funding – from hobby to big business

Whatever you are wanting your business to do for you, it needs to be able to sustain itself. Would you prefer to keep investing more and more money with no returns or at least have your hobby pay for itself? Which do you think you can enjoy more?

You can’t serve another if you own cup is empty.

If you are looking to make a good profit, your business plan will plot how you make money and how the cash flows. You will be able to work out the times of feast and famine and how to balance the two.

Regardless of business size or nature, there is nothing unspiritual about knowing your costs are covered and how your money flows. The best way to help some-one worse-off than you is to not be one of them.

  1. Growth and evolution

A well-defined plan will show you exactly which areas your business can grow into, the optimal times for growth as well as getting the word out there.

Your business plan plots the strategy for spreading the word about what you do.

New projects, spin-off workshops, all new awesome ideas are organised and held in one place. This shows any funder (including yourself) your ability to stand the test of time.

Through flexibility and planning for mishaps, you gain the credibility you are looking for. Now that’s what I call co-creation!

  1. Prioritising – a stitch in time saves nine

Would you spend a lot of money on print-media without a coherent brand in place? Would you run a social media campaign with no on-line portal to accept payment?

Ah, now I got you thinking!

Being clear on what is truly important to you, allows you to get exactly what you want, when you want it. Without the fuss, life flows quickly, accurately and in good time. More than simply a money-saver, it is so empowering too!

  1. Control, your way

Your business plan helps build your confidence. When talking at a networking event, if you know every angle of your business think of the gravitas that will hold. People will naturally be drawn to you because you know what you are talking about.

You have gained control in a manageable way for yourself. If surprises happen you can adapt and respond accordingly, rather than reacting.

  1. Accountability…

As a therapist, you are a solo-preneur.

The best way to keep yourself motivated is to monitor, review and amend your plan. All the evidence you need to know you are on track, there in black and white. You can always point out your successes at your next networking event with confidence!

Business planning: A learning and growing experience that becomes much easier each time you review your plan.

Your business plan will reflect your vision, mission and values and be the peg in the ground and the yardstick, to help you navigate your way to a successful future.

There is nothing unspiritual about planning and tying your camels to a tree!
